We spent a good few hours camped out in a great spot on the bend just above the Super Morzine bubble. It was scorching hot and the crowd (including plenty of hopeful Dutch) kept the cheering and singing going and everyone entertained. Bits of news came through from people with i-phones on what was happening down the course : Armstrong involved in three crashes! Eventually the craziness of the promotional caravan procession came past and then the waiting , waiting for the helicopters to appear through the mountains from Les Gets, signalling the arrival of the leading group. Contador was in the lead as they passed us, though Andy Schleck won right on the line in an exciting finish at Avoriaz. A great atmosphere, Jon got plenty of great shots and it was well worth the wait. Stage 9 starts tomorow from the centre of Morzine with Cadel Evans in the yellow jersey.
